What if my resume isn’t very good? Call our office (940-565-2861) to schedule a meeting with a coordinator. He or she will sit down with you one-on-one and help you with your resume. Will I have time to study for my finals each semester? Most employers are very flexible around exam time, and some of them even allow you take some time off to study. All employers understand that you are a student first and foremost, and if they don’t, we stop working with them. Should I take an unpaid or low paying internship if I can’t find anything else? While obviously getting paid is best, there are certain times where getting experience is the primary goal. It’s best to look at all the factors, not just the dollars/hour when making your decision. Having said that, we work hard with employers to try and convince them to pay whenever possible. Since it delays my graduation, why should I even consider an alternating Co-op? While these jobs do delay your graduation, you are almost guaranteed a job offer, so the case can be made that if you start your career early, who really cares if you graduate a little later? Alternating Co-op also allows you to work anywhere in the country. When’s the best time to get enrolled? Employers are looking for students year round, so the best answer is to get enrolled now. There isn’t any reason to wait—once you’re enrolled, you have access to the database until you graduate.
